Q-Should I do a patch test on my skin prior to using any of your products?
A-The Active Serum and Active Serum for Sensitive Skin contains Retinol. To ensure compatibility with this product, we recommend you place a small drop of the serum and cover a dime sized area below one ear for 3 consecutive evening. If area treated becomes excessively red or itchy, discontinue use and contact us. A tingling sensation or flushing is considered normal. Once compatibility is established, use as directed.
Q-What is the order of product usage?
A-For optimal results we recommend the following morning and evening method of application:
Begin with the Green Tea Wash, followed by the Skin Tonic, Active Serum or Active Serum for Sensitive Skin, and finally the TX™ Formula. Our Solar Screen is recommended if you plan on outdoor activities as this contains UVA and UVB SPF30 protection as well as antioxidants and moisturizing components. The DNA Technology products may also be used after the serum. Makeup can then be applied immediately after product usage.
Q-I am on a budget and would like to try one of your products. Which one would you recommend to achieve noticeable results?
A-The Active Serum and Active Serum for Sensitive Skin can independently provide the skin with necessary levels of increased vitamins for a noticeable change in skin thickness, erasing fine wrinkles, and increasing skin hydration.
Q-I have dry skin. Does Leaf and Rusher® make a moisturizer?
A-The TX™ Formula is a light moisturizer containing the essential vitamins as well as extracts and lipids designed to restore the skins natural lipid barrier and to lock in moisture. The DNA Technology products also offer a more intense and rich repair of skin cell damage.
Q- I have sensitive skin and have a difficult time using Retinol. Do you have a product that I can use?
A-Leaf & Rusher® have an Active Serum for Sensitive Skin, which was formulated especially for individuals with skin sensitivity to Vitamin A. In addition to this, we have incorporated specific components in the other products to provide anti-irritation, anti-inflammatory and anti-stinging properties designed to ensure necessary nutrition without causing irritation. If you have sensitive skin, we suggest using the Skin Tonic and TX™ Formula initially or in combination with the Active Serum for Sensitive Skin along with the full range of products in Leaf & Rusher® to introduce your skin to our vitamin A skin care treatments. Once the skin has adapted to use of the sensitive skin product, you can upgrade to the Active Serum to achieve maximum benefits.
Q-I have been using the Leaf & Rusher® products for a week and I noticed a few pimples have popped up. Should I be concerned and should I change how I use the products?
A-Retinol is active on the skin and can unfortunately cause minor acne outbreaks in the first few weeks of usage. If such an outbreak occurs, discontinue usage of the Active Serum/Active Serum for Sensitive Skin in the immediate area of the pimple for the short time the eruption is visible and introduce a scrub cloth during your wash in order to increase exfoliation of the area of conjested/erupting pores. After approximately one week without treatment, slowly begin using Serum and Tx™ Formula over site by using twice a week the first week, building up one day per week gradually thereafter.
Q- I have acne and am prone to frequent outbreaks. Does Leaf & Rusher® have a special treatment for Acnetic skin?
A-Yes, we have just launched our new Acne Line. Acne Foaming Cleanser, Acne Serum Tx™, and Acne Spot Tx™. Our Green Tea Wash and Skin Tonic are ideal in conjunction to many acne treatments due to their anti-irritaion, antiseptic properties, and pH balance.
Q-Is there any special storage needed for Leaf & Rusher® products and what is the shelf life after opening?
A-The only precautions for the Leaf & Rusher® products would be to avoid placing them in excessively warm temperatures (>80°F). The Active Serum/Active Serum for Sensitive Skin, Skin Tonic, and TX™ Formula are all contained in UVA and UVB protected bottles, thus sun protection is not an issue. The Green Tea Wash and Solar Screen are contained in opaque tubes thus preventing UVA and UVB damage. Regarding the chemical longevity of products, the optimal self-life of all the items is 1 year unopened and 6 months opened.
Q-Should I stop using any of the Leaf & Rusher® products if I am pregnant or lactating?
A-It is recommended by American Medical Association that pregnant or lactating women forgo the use topical vitamin A. Therefore, we suggest that you cease using the Active Serum/Active Serum for Sensitive Skin and the TX™ Formula unless cleared by your physician. The Green Tea Wash and the Skin Tonic do not contain Vitamin A and can safely be continued.
